I HATE it when people say ‘oh he/she was being selfish.’ when someone commits suicide. Yeah, I get it. They left people behind. But how in the hell does that make them selfish? They wanted to stop hurting. They were tired of all the hate and abuse they were taking, mentally and physically. They were tired of being an outcast, of being unloved, of being alone. And do you guys even understand the depth of how miserable someone has to be to even think that was the only way out? They needed a friend, someone to be there for them. But we didn’t do shit for them, did we? I’m so tired of people blaming the victim when we are the real cause of his/her problems. We didn’t stop and take one minute out of our day to ask them ‘what’s wrong?’ or say ‘I’m here for you.’ we didn’t even smile. We are so obsessed in our own pathetic lives that we don’t realize what’s happening around us. Hey, who knows… maybe your friendship was all they needed to rethink things… Suicide should never be someone’s only option.
And if any of you are even thinking about suicide, know that I am here for you. I’m here to listen to you when no one else would. And I love you. When no one else said it, i did. Stay strong.
